25 Mar Third Paradise
BY MICHELANGELO PISTOLETTO
The call for “Il Terzo Paradiso ad Ancona” (“The Third Paradise in Ancona”) invites Italian companies to take part in a symbolic, artistic, group action, thereby affirming the importance of integration as a tool for economic and social growth.
Approximately two months after recent hate crimes committed in Macerata, the art+b=love(?) festival is hosting Michelangelo Pistoletto’s Terzo Paradiso for the first time in Ancona; this collective work invites us to be “gardeners” of our planet, caring for society and making a personal commitment to a global vision.
“Terzo Paradiso” consists of three consecutive circles, a reconfiguration of the mathematical symbol of infinity. The outermost circles represent all of our diversities and
antinomies; the central one is the space where the other two overlap and co-penetrate; it represents the womb of a new humanity. Every company that wishes to contribute to the statement of integration and re-integration symbolized by Pistoletto’s work is invited to send a foreign-born employee of the company to present and place before the Ambassador of the Third Paradise, Francesco Saverio Teruzzi, and within the Third Paradise of Ancona inside the Mole Vanvitelliana, an object that is emblematic of the company.
